The occupation of lawyers suffers from some problems of public perceptions.  Could be related to their ability to argue both legal sides.  In some nation's systems public prosecutors also take cases defending the accused.  I'm thinking the UK may be that way.  Confusing role reversals counter to america's customary roles.

Then there's the Avenatti stereotype . . .   A severely blemished reputation, affecting the profession.
