Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Fines and Legal Fees Msg# 1050064

I am beginning to think some people are upset that no OPA employees were found to have stolen the missing bank deposits.
I for one, and I think I'm not alone, are upset that (1) we've seen no indication from management that they negotiated anything with the Bank of Ocean City on the lost deposits. (Let me remind your readers that the audit suggests that the Bank of Ocean City had no interest in doing their own internal review of our lost deposit but rather it took our forensic auditors to finally get these yahoos to admit, "oh, maybe our people didn't follow procedures regarding the receipt of OPA deposits.") and (2) we've seen no indication from management that they are considering moving OPA's business to another bank. Why would we want to continue doing business with the Bank of Ocean City? The Bank of Ocean City who by all indications didn't care about our missing deposits totaling $26,000. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I like your idea. OP is working with a very large budget and we need to monitor it. We just had a forensic audit at $200,000. It found nothing we did not already know, other than it absolved OPA employees at Admin from being thieves and pointed in the direction of the bank. We already knew the YC manager was a thief - he confessed. Maybe you should be clamoring for the bank to hire internal auditors. I am beginning to think some people are upset that no OPA employees were found to have stolen the missing bank deposits. |
