It appears that Mr Coolahan got his clubhouse and the stealthy upgrades to the golf course over the years because....it is "one of the few amenities...that I use". The status quo has continually benefited the small golf membership. This golf pattern is one of the moving forces behind the desire to get these expenditures out in the open and fully analyzed as to their ultimate cost/benefit to the membership in its entirety. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Furthermore, I support the overdue upgrade of the golf facilities, as it is one of the few amenities that OPA funds that I use as a part-time resident. I did not support the golf course construction as approved by the board. In my view, the small, ranch-house style building approved by the board was a cheap move to get something in place without a referendum. My preference would have been for the board to have a new, well-designed structure of a size similar to what was torn down. Something this community could be proud of. I believe such a well-designed structure would have been approved in a referendum. Unfortunately, the board had no confidence in the membership and settled on an el cheapo structure. |
