It's too bad Viola had to express his opinion to Rogers but, hey, doesn't he get to have conversations with Board members?
I suppose it depends on one's point of view. I am not particularly comfortable having any GM lobbying board members as to who should be the OPA president. Keep in mind that the GM is the sole employee of the Board of Directors. I guess Viola is happy with his job and is nervous that Perrone wants to put a succession plan in place. Succession plans are good practice. Any succession plan is not worth the paper it is printed on. Also, in my view, you are way off in thinking that there is some friction between Perrone and Viola with regard to succession. Why would you suggest there is when Viola apparently, according to the Progress, wanted the board to make Perrone president? Perrone and Viola are friends. This board or any near-term board is not likely to remove Viola. Viola is here until Viola decides to leave or something very unforeseen happens. Viola may well be the best GM in OPA's over 50 years. As former board member Doris Lloyd puts it -- "Thank God for John Viola." |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This is more like the Ocean Pines I'm used to. Bitterness, close votes, a divided Board, leaked gossip.
