Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Bainbridge Drainage Msg# 1097896

The project is expected to proceed in a partial manner for a cost of around $800,000 with OPA contributing about $250,000.
That said, this project was a failure before the first dime was spent. Why? Because someone, perhaps at the county level, misled OPA folks to believe the increased water flow from the project could be dumped into a pond on the old golf course property. Now $800,000 will be spent with no place to take the water flow. Where will the increased flows from pipe and ditch improvements be directed? Maybe someone has an answer but I have not heard it. In fact, the board members never even asked the question. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, Let's discuss something other than masks! I was reading about the drainage project and read Colby's presentation which was spot on! I can testify to everything she talked about in section 3 as Eddie and I spent 100's of hours in that section and area during many heavy rains and storms. This would be a great improvement for OPA but I did not hear what happened at the meeting but I am pretty sure you did what did the board decide? |
