Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Janasek Pleads Guilty, Apologizes Msg# 1104491

Now here's a matter with Janasek which likely would be much wiser to conduct, in obscurity, but wasn't.
The board could not conduct it in obscurity under our bylaws. Once Viola filed a formal complaint the board was obligate to hold a public hearing within 14 days. My comment about Janasek allowing this to erupt publicly was meant to convey my thought that he had been warned in the past and continued his abusive comments about Viola. We do not know if any of Janasek's apparent complaints about Viola are valid or not. That was not the issue before the board. If Janasek had any valid complaints about the GM those complaints should have been brought before the board in private session, not blurted out in public places like the Yacht Club and golf club. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks for that thorough analysis of Friday's developments. I especially liked your observation: The only remaining question is why Janasek allowed this issue to erupt on the public stage. Seems the boards, in the recent couple years have conducted various matters, in relative obscurity from public participation -- by email and on line. AND the public and forum folks have griped about such actions. Also with possible violations of Md laws. Now here's a matter with Janasek which likely would be much wiser to conduct, in obscurity, but wasn't. Seems they've got their priorities mixed up !!! Upside down !!! PS I'd agree that Brown should have abstained, as you suggest. Would then have been only two removal votes. |
