"Stored" is not accurate. The solar energy that I do not use in Summer, goes onto the Choptank "grid" and I can use that energy in the Winter when solar generation is lower. They can sell it and give me a credit to use when I need it.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I've got trouble understanding saying the energy is "stored" in the summer. The energy needs to be sold & used when generated and can't be stored. And that's a problem for example in California when some hours of sunny days that solar generation exceeds loads and must be sold to surrounding states. Otherwise their grid becomes unstable and subject to failure. And still wondering who paid the installation costs & how will they be reimbursed over time? |
