Exactly. Many feel good about doing any small bit to help and that’s great. Many will cheer the US to do more than they’ve done on a macro level. To that end the US will risk damaging its economy to feel good at a global level while China and India and others laugh at us while saying, “Keep going, we are right behind you.”  NOT !!!
