 Using a lack of a quorum in a pandemic at any location is ridiculous. To say that Diller is not advocating for her husband is equally ridiculous. Diller has tried this organizing rodeo before. Then disappeared for two or three years. Anyway, do you agree with Diller that this current board is a dictatorship? Are you running? How many of the 10 asked are running? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Last year at the Annual OP Meeting, my husband and I sat outside in socially distanced chairs on a beautiful day and our Community couldn't get a quorum. Recent events show the importance of community involvement. The Ocean Pines Get Involved Facebook group is not Mrs. Diller's group. It is not Colby's group. The Group was Mrs. Diller's idea, and like many of us, she lacked technical expertise, and like many of us, knows that Colby Phillips is always to be counted on to lend a hand. Colby was on the first zoom meeting to help those like myself who couldn't even figure out how to unmute or what raise a hand meant. Mrs. Diller's husband was also on the first meeting but spent his time listening. I think it would be wonderful for others who are interested to run for a Board position to join our group as well. Mrs. Diller is not advocating for her husband, and in fact asked 10 people, including myself, to run. The facebook group is using social media as a platform to present ideas and concerns to the board, help members get answers, get members involved in committees and to attend meetings. The group has a goal to represent everyone. OP has a good board system/committee system but navigating it can be difficult. Using this group we can remind members of meetings and get answers to their questions. We've had some long germ residents not know how to get permits, public work answers or even what amenities are available. I see the Ocean Pines-Get Involved as a positive group-- not a platform to vent or complain, but a group that plans on utilizing the expertise in our community, implementing ideas, finding solutions, improving transparency, and focusing on the positive future of Ocean Pines. |
