Section 23: OPA Elections Subject: Romersa Withdraws Withdrawal !!!! Msg# 1126304

One aspect of the suggestion that Lisa Romersa wait a year before running for the board that has not been mentioned is the fact it became obvious that she wasn't prepared.
Thanks for clarifying that she was indeed asked to drop out of the race, as she claimed. She had the complete support of Colby, Esther, the other candidates and the FB group. So Colby Phillips AND Esther Diller gave their complete support to a candidate they did not think was prepared to be a board member? Why on earth is Colby involved in OPA politics? (rhetorical question) As for what Lisa knows or does not know about OPA, after over thirty years of board-watching I could write a book about the lack of knowledge of OPA by candidates as well as those elected. It is up to the voters to select from among those who qualify to be on the ballot, and having the imprimatur of Esther or Colby is not one of the qualifications to run. By the way, I am not endorsing anyone at this time. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: One aspect of the suggestion that Lisa Romersa wait a year before running for the board that has not been mentioned is the fact it became obvious that she wasn't prepared. She had very little knowledge of OP, it's finances, amenities and history. She didn't know how many homes there were and that each household got one vote. She didn't know who was on the board, the history and who had a term ending. She didn't know there was a pond at Bainbridge (she thought they were digging one) despite being vocal about drainage issues. She thought it crazy that another candidate wanted to fix mailboxes because she thought the post office owned them. She had no knowledge of losses or what was working well. She joined By laws on our suggestion but didn't realize she would have to leave that committee if she was on the board. She decided not to take the suggestion to wait a year and she ran. She had the complete support of Colby, Esther, the other candidates and the FB group. She now looks on this help (such as using contacts to call press and get her info out) as intimidation??? She complains now that she didn't want to do anything until her election bid was certified yet she started her own campaign FB page (since deleted). If you listen to her numerous social media posts, you sense all sort of conspiracy theories. One stated that the election Committee was biased sorry Steve), the Board was showing favoritism because Doug Parks answered questions on FB (v Frank Daly answering via the Forum) etc. She even at one point stated on the phone the campaign almost made her lose her marriage. Her actions do not demonstrate the decision making skills needed as a board member. I doubt informed voters or present board members would be happy having her as a resident making important decisions for the Community. We would all need a scorecard to keep track of her "decisions". It's reprehensible that she is attempting to blame anything on anyone versus taking personal responsibility. She went as far to accuse another candidate, a veteran of campaigning at The Wall event when other candidates were there volunteering. She calls the other candidates 'silent" when they refuse to be part of this drama she is causing. How unfortunate it is that the election committee just didn't accept her withdrawal. How many more times will she quit and re enter the race and what damage will be done to others reputations in the meantime. |
