For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My first car (actually it was in my mother's name) was a 1950 Chevy "salesman"s coupe" that had just that panel for a back seat. My brother and I thought it was too underpowered so we put a Ford flat head 8 cylinder engine in and then the trouble started. What started as a conservative tight little car became a maintenance nightmare.....transmissions, differentials, rear axles, etc. My mother wouldn't go near it. |
