Thanks. Not sure we should be jumping to millions at this point, but if human waste then certainly a possible sewage system leak. We tested once. Bad result. Tested again. Bad result. We are now awaiting a third test? This goes back almost a year. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: There has been water testing going on for some time by the ACT. Our committee asked for a more specific test be initiated last November to determine the origin of any pollution. We were looking to prove, or disprove the source was the resident Canada goose population. When we finally received a copy of that report months later we were surprised to find human waste in two ponds, one, the south pond at north gate was highly polluted. The ACT felt it was a bad test and did it again in December. What concerns me personally, as well as other members of our committee, is the lack of action and what would appear to be a case of the board sitting on these results. This north gate pond should have been roped off to public and pets and the cause of the human waste immediately investigated. According to my source if this is sewer related the costs to repair could be in the millions. I think what bothers me most is the board supporting the new spray irrigation project as a good thing for our environment while ignoring the potential real environmental disaster. Marty |
