Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Disgraceful Vote on Lakernick Msg# 1153313

Basically, we agree. I think that the minority just let happen what this majority does best, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. Unless....
Are you thinking that Lakernick put himself up for that committee assignment knowing that he would be turned down and that would give him more political traction?? Too clever by half. He would have to think that it would go all the way to a board vote. He could have been turned down before it got that far. Maybe some traction but not the traction/attraction he's getting now. Makes schoolyard seem sophisticated by comparison |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: >>>I'm not sure that it was a trap.<<< Look at the video segment on the Lakernick vote. The two parties voting for Lakernick were as cool as the proverbial cucumber. Not a syllable of anger displayed. In my opinion they were prepared for the outcome and the political opportunity it affords. They even have Daly on the record about his NO vote. He is the gift that keeps on giving. Rejecting Lakernick in a public vote was stupid. Horn has total authority to appoint. She should have lobbied for board consent for Lakernick’s appointment, or never put it on the floor for a NO vote without knowing the result. It is also likely EVERYTHING is being monitored for possible future legal actions. There is a political war going on for board control, one unlike anything I recall in the last 30 or so years. Or my imagination is working overtime. |
