I don’t see myself at war with you.
I certainly hope not. Which “side” one should be in if they want to get on a committee? Hopefully, all committee appointments are not extrapolated to evolve around a Facebook page? I know many may disagree with me, but many of these battles of a personal nature seemed to gather steam after Esther Diller and Colby Phillips started their Facebook site just after Phillips resigned. She had filed public charges against OPA president Larry Perrone. Those charges were investigated and found not to be credible. I believe Colby eventually removed herself as an Administrator. Colby and Esther were/are close, with Esther, a former board member, acting as a "mentor" to Colby, while she was an OPA employee. From Ocean City Today: (March 12, 2021) Focused on community issues and civic engagement, a new private Facebook group, Ocean Pines Get Involved, has expanded rapidly with hundreds of members joining in less than two weeks. Esther Diller, who along with Colby Phillips is a page administrator, said on Monday said more than 300 members have joined since the page’s launch on Feb. 27 “I’m pretty excited we had such a strong response,” she said. “The goal was to get the community involved [and that] seems to be happening.” Diller said the intent behind the community watchdog group is to help the Board of Directors stay focused on external, rather than internal, issues. “It’s not a witch hunt,” she said. The goal is to highlight issues of community-wide concern. “What will help our fellow homeowners [and] what will help the board get back on the right track,” she said. “They’re not on the right track and they’ve been off the track for several months.” OP Get Involved Facebook group gains fast popularity | News | oceancitytoday.com |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I didnt say it was Horn or Daly who was the ” Idiot “ referred to in your post. Maybe things are getting muddled here, but that was not what I was suggesting. However, there are a few people on the board who keep bringing up this conviction to keep it circulating fo what seems to be personal vendettas or to keep her husband from running again. Again, the ability to compartmentalize is a big part of being a professional. I did not say I speak for all of Ocean Pines. But sending unsolicited messages about residents to other residents, isn’t exactly professional behavior. Attempting to use bylaws to eliminate opponents would not seem to be professional behavior. i see this Facebook war differently than you. Plus, we seem to have a different view regarding what level of professionalism we would like to see in the board’s behavior. I don’t see myself at war with you. I just see people trying to have a dialogue about our expectations for this community. To me what appears to be a childish Facebook war is more a reaction to the behaviors of the board. Taking the ROC founder onto a committee, but not Stu Lakernick (sp?) — the founder’s of the other page’s husband —sort of shows how the innocent fb war might be perceived? Which “side” one should be in if they want to get on a committee? |
