I didnt say it was Horn or Daly who was the ” Idiot “ referred to in your post. Maybe things are getting muddled here, but that was not what I was suggesting. However, there are a few people on the board who keep bringing up this conviction to keep it circulating fo what seems to be personal vendettas or to keep her husband from running again. Again, the ability to compartmentalize is a big part of being a professional. I did not say I speak for all of Ocean Pines. But sending unsolicited messages about residents to other residents, isn’t exactly professional behavior. Attempting to use bylaws to eliminate opponents would not seem to be professional behavior. i see this Facebook war differently than you. Plus, we seem to have a different view regarding what level of professionalism we would like to see in the board’s behavior. I don’t see myself at war with you. I just see people trying to have a dialogue about our expectations for this community. To me what appears to be a childish Facebook war is more a reaction to the behaviors of the board. Taking the ROC founder onto a committee, but not Stu Lakernick (sp?) — the founder’s of the other page’s husband —sort of shows how the innocent fb war might be perceived? Which “side” one should be in if they want to get on a committee? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You did manage to find a post of mine where I used the word idiot. However, my use of the word was totally appropriate and was not directed at Horn or Daly, as you suggested in a prior message. I used the word idiot to describe the crackpot sending out anonymous letters and emails about Esther Diller and her conviction in Federal Court as a means of discrediting her husband in an Ocean Pines election. Daly wrote that his comments reference "Multiple concerns raised to me, and other Directors, over the past year" about Diller. I asked him who these people were. Again, not saying we need to HIRE professionals— the people we elect to the board should behave by a code of conduct, AS PROFESSIONALS. They believe they are acting professionally. Never assume that your view of board member comments or actions is shared universally or even by a majority of association members. And “better” is subjective. I’d guess operationally— which would be the GM— things in the books look good. But I’m not sure as far as a sense of community, I’m not sure about that. If newbies are getting this kind of impression, I’d that good for ocean pines? These Facebook Wars involve what? 10 or so individuals? Sense of community? That is not to be found on Facebook or on this forum. The vast majority of association members pay absolutely no attention to all this political stuff. Over half of them do not even vote. What is the most important event to ever happen in Ocean Pines for the vast majority of 8,450 or so lot owners? The board reduction of the assessment for next year by $100. I go with Ron Fisher -- Another day in paradise. Meantime, for those of us who enjoy observing the Ocean Pines political scene, our most valuable amenity is the Board of Directors -- and it is free. I have been enjoying it for over 30 years as a fulltime resident. |
