Motivated is perhaps better. All these board goings-on have been going on more or less non-stop for the 30+ years I have lived in Ocean Pines. If history shows us anything, it is no matter who is elected, a large segment of the community will swear the board is on some power trip to the detriment of the community. This is, without question, a fact of OPA political life. “Throw the bums out” may make for good sound bites, but can have unintended consequences. The last time association members voted for a major change in the board it ended in financial disaster. What’s that old saying? Be careful what you wish for.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: How did Amy’s post “affect” you?… I think I might have used the wrong word Joe. I believe “motivated” is better. up until that point, I just read with interest all the goings on. Her message to me just hit me the wrong way. I then fully understood what has been going on behind the director’s doors. thanks for asking. |
