Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Perrone Resigns As OPA Treasurer Msg# 1166168

I suppose I must repeat and add. Pam, you need to pay closer attention. You followed up with what seemed like a snarky remark of "so much for transparency". I never wrote that. It was another forum member. It would require him to read his monthly reports. Do you even know what information I was seeking? The answer cannot be found in any monthly reports. Since you seem to know a great deal about this, just what information do you think I asked the Treasurer about that can be found in any available reports? I suspect you have no clue. Prove me wrong - without trying to find out from others at this point. I am however very disappointed in what appears to be a spreading of misinformation. It is my opinion that you owe the Board, staff, and homeowners a retraction of your misguided comments regarding Mr. Perrone’s resignation. He also owes an apology and admission that he had the information all along. Please don’t sow seeds of discontent. It is unbecoming of you. You have no idea what you are talking about. What exactly are my “misguided comments?” Again, you have no idea what question I wanted answered. In fact, the question remains unanswered and cannot be found in any reports, monthly or otherwise. You seem quite over the edge about something you know nothing about |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I am very disappointed in your response to Larry Perrone’s resignation from the office of Treasurer. You accepted at face value that Mr. Perrone was not give the information he requested. I found it interesting that he as treasurer did not already know the answer to your question. If you had not accepted the reason for Mr. Perrone’s resignation but investigated further, you would have found that Mr. Perrone is provided that information on a monthly basis. It appears that in his role as treasurer he did not read that month’s board information nor any information that he receives on a monthly basis. Instead, when he was not immediately provided the information (that he already had) he resigned. My experience with organizations is that staff have a mechanism for providing information to members of the organization. Ocean Pines Homeowners association provides the info@oceanpines for members seeking information on any of a myriad of subjects. Then you ended your commentary with what felt like a snarky remark “so much for transparency”. Thus, those who read the forum and those who listen to people who read the forum were left with the impression the Board, the Treasurer, General Manager and Director of Finance are deficient in not only refusing to provide information but somehow hiding the information. Really Joe? Since Mr. Perrone was not living up to his fiduciary responsibilities it is appropriate that he resigned. |
