Jim - Visitors to OPA who spend their money here, and as a result, lower our assessments do not see those announcements.
Aside from the signs at the entrance to the Yacht Club and the golf clubhouse, the events promoted on the current signs are, as a practical matter, of absolutely little to no interest to visitors. or to announce safety issues. What safety issues? Worcester County CodeRed: What is CodeRED and why is it important to me? CodeRED is an emergency notification service that allows emergency officials to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency notifications. Only authorized officials have access to the CodeRED system. When will CodeRED be used? Any message regarding the safety, property or welfare of the community will be disseminated using the CodeRED system. These may include evacuation notices, wanted or armed suspects in a community or other vital information. Does the CodeRED system replace other systems that have been used to provide time-sensitive information to residents? For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: We have the existing signs (which I don't notice as I drive by), the weekly eblast, the quarterly flyer, and the OPA website, not to mention local newspapers and a plethora of facebook pages. I do not see any need for more. Jim - Visitors to OPA who spend their money here, and as a result, lower our assessments do not see those announcements. I am okay with an electric sign that is managed on-line at each entrance to advertise events, Food and Beverage specials or to announce safety issues. I am also for taking down the wooden signs to save $ to light, maintain and the labor to change the letters. Tom |
