| I hate that the Board is getting threats; however for the Board to require this specific proof of ownership with such short notice is ridiculous. Good thing Stuart has a pool membership and this has the card, because like a lot of part time owners, he travels to Ocean Pines Friday night after Administration is closed. I also question the legality of this. On what grounds can the police turn me away with my HOA receipt, tax bill that shows ownership? Where in the governing documents does it give the Board the authority to require a card that has never been required before? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Amy, given threats received by board members and angry posts on Facebook about the board being corrupt, a criminal enterprise, etc., this looks like a prudent move by OPA. As for the annual meeting, I do not recall threats related to that, nor the likelihood of planned demonstrations likely to include many angry folks who are not association members. Truly sad that OPA had to remove the phone numbers and addresses of board members from the OPA website. |
