We purchased in OP back in 2009/2010. At that time, we were given the yellow property owner cards. It wasn't until we went and purchased a family swim membership that we were issued those photo id cards. Our whole family, kids included, were issued these cards (at the time my kids might have been about 4 and 6-they are now teenagers) We have always referred to them as our Pool Cards - didn't realize until this week that those were also our official Property Owner ID cards.
What I'm seeing is that there are some property homeowners who may have the older yellow cards but no photo ID because they never joined one of the amenities. Some have said they've never been issued either type of card. I am unsure of what the current practice is when someone recently becomes a property owner in OP. Not against showing some form of ID to attend an HOA meeting and verifying that attendees are property owners. It's a shame that such late notice was given though, especially for people who may be part time or may have to work during the 8-4:30 time frame. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Amy, given threats received by board members and angry posts on Facebook about the board being corrupt, a criminal enterprise, etc., this looks like a prudent move by OPA. As for the annual meeting, I do not recall threats related to that, nor the likelihood of planned demonstrations likely to include many angry folks who are not association members. Truly sad that OPA had to remove the phone numbers and addresses of board members from the OPA website. |
