Facts are a terrible thing at times.
The newer cards came out around 2011. Then I am told a notice went out in an assessment package telling all owners to get new cards. Since then all new owners are supposed to get notice about cards. Here is the kicker, the membership office says all 8450 or so properties have obtained a card except 100. Assuming that is correct, your concerns are much ado about little. I am not certain if a husband and wife each get a card if that is counted as for one lot Whether owners retain them is another issue. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I hate that the Board is getting threats; however for the Board to require this specific proof of ownership with such short notice is ridiculous. Good thing Stuart has a pool membership and this has the card, because like a lot of part time owners, he travels to Ocean Pines Friday night after Administration is closed. I also question the legality of this. On what grounds can the police turn me away with my HOA receipt, tax bill that shows ownership? Where in the governing documents does it give the Board the authority to require a card that has never been required before? |
