Traci, Even if depreciation costs are included, golf last year lost $85,000 all in. Certainly not many millions as you suggest.
The golf course is perhaps the most valuable asset of this community, along with the Yacht Club and Beach Club. Beyond that, what is it you want to happen with the golf course? Financially it is doing the best it has done in 25 years or so. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I am referring to the millions spent as part of the budget. You can make a profit doing most things when someone else is footing the money for the actual costs. The clubhouse rebuilding, the new golf carts, the new cart barn, the new bulkheads, and many more expenses that are put into the budget. I would love if the actual costs to run the golf course amenities were told straight up. |
