Thanks for the feedback, Joe! Facebook is still a very important resource for us, and it helps us reach many more people than the website alone does. For whatever reason, some people only look at the website, some only at Facebook, some only at the e-blast, etc. Many come to your forum first for information! ![]() It's important for us to have content on each and every platform at our disposal, and we do our best to keep it well organized and updated. To that point, press releases are distributed to people like you, and then posted on the website, Facebook and other social media, and used in newsletters and the e-blast where appropriate. In my experience, it's the best way to maximize exposure without spending a lot of homeowner dollars in advertising. I do see your point about the homepage. Perhaps that's something I'll explore in the fall once we make it through the busy summer and election season. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Too many locations. OPA might consider dumping everything on Facebook other than perhaps one link that takes Facebook users to the OPA website. It is difficult to keep one website up to date, much less a website and multiple Facebook pages. And then utilize all that giant image space on the website homepage for real information. People go to the website for information. All the latest news and info or links to it should be on the home page and “above the fold.” That giant image is a waste of the most valuable real estate on a homepage. |
