One woman reported that the noise is constant and cyclical.  "If there's a storm coming and in and the winds are really starting to pick up, these three behind us here sound literally like this house is in a washing machine."

In the U.S., Dr. Nina Pierpoint, a researcher at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, published a book called Wind Turbine Syndrome describing symptoms reported by people who live near wind turbines.  Click Here   

In Maine, Dr. Michael A. Nissenbaum, a radiologist at the Northern Maine Medical Center, reported similar results.  

In the case of offshore turbines, those same hazards of constant and cyclical noise and vibrations  can adversely effect marine life.  For example whales use their sense of sound to navigate in waterways, and to communicate with their infants.   And there have been regulations issued curtailing high frequency Naval radar due to ill effects upon whales. 

Appears that much further study is needed regarding the adverse effects of the wind turbines both on humans and on marine life.
