Destroy our view, I would think that would be the last thing I was worried about. Has anyone really looked at Ocean City lately. Making it into a major city. View has already been destroyed in my opinion. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Last Friday's announcement of the Ocean City Maryland lawsuit against wind turbines has been joined by a number of groups:
Seems pretty wide spread opposition to the project. A major concern is the effects on the view-scape, with 114 offshore wind turbines too close to shore. For example the Virginia beach wind project is being built 26 or more miles offshore, compared to the 10.7 miles plan, off of Ocean City’s coast. Imagine the impacts of more than 100 windmills at 938ft tall. “We have a responsibility to protect our ecosystem, our economy, view shed and our future,” stated Mayor Rick Meehan. “For the past seven and half years we have been trying to work with the State of Maryland and the federal government to address our concerns with this project. All of our concerns were either ignored or considered insignificant. It is unfortunate that it has come to this, but the Town was left with no choice but to file suit against BOEM and challenge their decision." |
