Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Offshore Wind Lawsuit Msg# 1215808

The topic was on the agenda that was published Thursday; however there was no way for homeowners to know that the Mayor was going to be in attendance and Roberts Rules was going to be lifted with an opportunity for questions.
I have attended the town halls in Ocean City. I agree with the Board that this is an important issue that impacts us. I stand by my opinion that an Ocean Pines Town Hall with Mayor Meehan and more explanation of the lawsuit would have benefited our homeowners and strengthened opposition and increased participation. I hope the Board considers having more Town Halls on such important issues. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Tom Thank you for the kind words - this is a total effort and the OPA board and the residents of Ocean Pines are happy to conjoin in the lawsuit to stop this offshore wind project that will effect our beach club and the beautiful view we have. It was a pleasure to have Mayor Meehan speak to the board and residents of ocean pines that were in attendance - they truly appreciated the Q&A between the Mayor and our residents. As to those who didn’t come to the board meeting - this topic was on the agenda and would have had an opportunity to have their questions answered. As far a the suggestion that OPA needed to hold a Town Hall - those are held by the Town of Ocean City as they are the lead with this important issue as they have had many for those interested to participate. Again - we are happy to be part of this important effort that effects all of us. Rick Farr, Vice President Ocean Pines Association |
