Couple thoughts. The Beach Club restaurant was budgeted to make $170,000 before depreciation but it’s now forecasted to make $247,000. So you have better than expected profit which should be in excess of depreciation.
The Golf Grille was budgeted to make $75,000 before depreciation but now it’s forecasted to make $104,000 which again is better than expected profit which I suspect is enough to cover depreciation of the Grille’s share of building depreciation. The Yacht Club’s budget mark of $160,000 operational profit was close to meeting depreciation expense of $180,000. The forecasted loss of $17,000 is a big disappointment and leaves depreciation expense totally uncovered. Why Beach Club and Golf Grille and not the Yacht Club? Not sure other than reported disappointing bookings of weddings and other events at the YC. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ken, you are correct. The Yacht Club loss including depreciation this year is likely to be closer to $400,000. Depreciation will be in the range of $180,000. Actuals are going to be in the area of $200,000 off of last year. What is your take on likely loss with depreciation this year? |
