It's Touch of Italy! commentary by Joe Reynolds, OceanPinesForum.com The Ocean Pines Board of Directors today voted unanimously to contract with Touch of Italy to manage food and beverage services for the Ocean Pines Association. This was perhaps a surprise to many, as the speculation was that Sodel was the selected contractor, a notion promoted by a front page story in the Ocean Pines Progress based on what was supposed to be a reliable source of "someone who knows someone." The contract term is five years and covers all OPA food and beverage operations at the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Golf Clubhouse. Unlike the prior management contract, this will be a lease arrangement. OceanPinesForum.com will be seeking a copy of the contract and follow up soon with more detailed commentary and analysis. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Minutes ago, at 2 PM, the OPA Board of Directors went into a special meeting closed session to discuss the food and beverage contract it authorized the General Manager to negotiate a month or more ago. The special meeting agenda says the board will come back into open session after the discussion and then vote on the contract. Stay tuned. Update: Board Goes with Touch of Italy |
