OK. Yes, I tend to agree, Fiori looks to be doing what is politically expedient for his re-election.
However, it is not that simple. Much of the money lost was taken from reserves of the West Ocean City Service area. Not sure of the voting number there. Also, Assategue Pointe is technically a campground, so most owners probably cannot vote in Worcester County. I'm not sure Fiori has examined all political aspects of his position, but who knows. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: As for the redistrict change moving Glen Riddle from Bunting to Fiori, I'm not sure whaat you are suggesting. Not a suggestion so much as an observation. Bunting has said he does not intend to run for re-election in 2026. Assuming Fiori does wish to run for re-election, Glen Riddle (the service area in the most financial trouble) suddenly lying in his district has to have impacted the voting lines on this issue, and perhaps the commissioner voting majority at large. Fiori narrowly won a four-way primary in 2022 with 31% of the vote, so it's not as if he has a ton of political capital with which to work. |
