Those of us who were assessed the $2,250,000.00 to buy the Sports Core like to think of that as our money. Marty, the cost of the land is not an issue. The cost of the land is the cost of the land, whether this building sits on top of it or it sits vacant. Unless, of course, you are trying to stop construction in order to sell this land to someone else for commercial development in order to recover what you think of as your money. That said I must ask you if you thought it was anticipated $3.9 million + 38%? At the time of the referendum, August, 2005, would I have anticipated $3.9 Million to be $5.4 Million? No, at the time I would not have. However, this is no longer August, 2005 and I can't make time back-up so that I can vote accordingly. As of right now, November, 2006, I believe the best course is to complete the project as quickly, cost efficiently and as aesthetically pleasing as possible. You have had a chance now to read the costs to voluntarily dissolve the Blades contract and you heard today Dan and SPN's projected schedules. The bylaws provide for a 75 day period from petition to referendum vote. When will you turn in 800 plus valid signatures? How much work will be completed on the project by the time a vote takes place 75 days later? What will be the value of that work? What ever that number is, divide by 8000 plus and pay your share. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Bill: Of course not. That said I must ask you if you thought it was anticipated $3.9 million + 38%? You know as well as I do that this undertaking is going o break $6,000,000.00 easily and without the cost of the land. Marty |
