Bill: "In my opinion, the reduced contingency is appropriate" In my opinion, you and the B/O/D do not have the right to change the terms specified in the referendum prospectus after the fact in order to make the numbers work. BTW, if you had personally budgeted a 7% contingency for fuel in your business or household budget for 2006 you would have been walking in September. A 14% contingency would have been exactly right. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty, do you feel the same percentage of contingency is needed for a project where we act a general contractor to build what is essentially a stick built brick veneered building using 25 or 30 independent sub-contractors vs. a design/build concept where 65% of the total cost is in a fixed price contract and another 6% of the total is in fixed cost permits and pre-construction fees which are, in fact, already paid at or below the budgeted figures. In my opinion, the reduced contingency is appropriate in light of the modified construction process. Bill Zawacki |
