Hi Tina. Hopefully we can leave all the past behind us and move on as a more united community. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Mr. Stachurski is very transparent (and self-serving). He wants a municipality so he can move on to a paid position. (He intends to prepare by getting a decree in some related disipline.) He says it will be less expensive to convert to a municipality. (Yeah right, and I've got a Bridge in Brooklyn). You have salaries for the town representatives which always escalate, paid benefits and a pension or 401(k). We are talking $$$$. At least with volunteers, you have a better chance of replacing them, but once bureaucrats become ensconced in their positions, they are there forever. They become indebted to their supporters and also like the money, benefis, and power. Hopefully this next Board will be independent thinkers. I was astounded that when forced to take the Community Center to referendum, each and every Board member signed a letter indicating their support for the Center. A Community Center may be a great idea, but you need proper planning and finances in place. In their rush to put their names on the project, the prior Board neglcted to act in a responsible manner and forgot, "It's not their money." |
