OPA Board Meeting of 9/14/2005. Dave Walter, a local builder and member of the ad HOC ARC Committee, presents the committee's final report to the OPA Board of Directors. Walter made the presentation in the absence of Ship Carey, committee chairman.
During discussion Director George Coleburn commented that the board had no authority to write ECC guidelines. Walter replied that if the board had no such authority over ECC then there was no need for a Board of Directors -- an absurd comment.
The board decided to send the proposed guidelines along to legal counsel for review. These guidelines could have a major impact on lot owners and the values of homes in Ocean Pines. For example, one major change pushed by Walter and accepted by the committee, would allow parking of utility trailers in driveways throughout the Pines.
