OPA board member George Coleburn suggested the OPA board look into an OPA assessment rebate to those who qualify under the state/county system for real estate tax mitigation based on income or other factors. While the dollar loss to OPA would be minimal, this would be a first step toward a socialist welfare approach to a homeowner association. Coleburn, and the OPA board, should let government handle welfare-like issues, and not involve OPA. There is no end to the slippery slope Coleburn invites OPA to test.
