Video: Venit - Catering
Start
OPA board member Mark Venit's motion to allow outside caterers to provide services in Ocean Pines facilities was passed by the OPA Board of Directors. This would not include the Yacht Club, but would provide an opportunity for competition for catering services at the Country Club and Beach Club.

Initially President Glenn Duffy asked for a motion to table all of Venit's motions, including this one. Dan Stachurski made the requested motion. It failed for lack of a second. When the vote on Venit's motion came after about 15 minutes of discussion, it was opposed by Duffy and Stachurski with Sterrett abstaining. Those voting in favor were George Coleburn, Heather Cook, Janet Kelley and Mark Venit.

Net result, if someone wants to have an affair at the County Club or Beach Club, an outside caterer may now be hired. There will be a small fee paid by outside caterers to offset any OPA expenses.
