One of the biggest problems to overcome should the OPVFD build a building with a large meeting room would be parking. The parking they would need available for the firemen 24/7 would not be available to anyone renting meeting space. Gail |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I was thinking something on the size of what people call a community hall. If they build such a room then it could be rented out to hold events and raise money. There is potential to rent out the current southside fire station to raise money. Some of the rooms are fairly large. But I see what you are driving at. A "community hall" size room, perhaps with partitions would certainly increase that potential. I don't believe anyone has seen the actual plans for the new OPVFD building. We'll all just have to wait and see what the OPVFD tells the BOD/OPA what they plan on building. I think that's right. |
