One of the biggest problems to overcome should the OPVFD build a building with a large meeting room would be parking. The parking they would need available for the firemen 24/7 would not be available to anyone renting meeting space. Gail, when county reviews plans for permits it considers the usage of areas and square footage to determine parking. If a new building contains meeting rooms the county will require adequate parking for the proposed use in addition to any parking required for firefighters. |
