Since the OPVFD already has meeting rooms, I wonder why they need one on the Noth Side? Nancy, The discussion of parking originated when Rick suggested a "new" fire station include a "Community Hall". Gail replied that lack of parking would be a problem. Joe advised that the County would ensure that there would be adequate parking in the event the OPVFD elected to construct that accommodation. The entire discussion is based upon "WHAT IF" scenarios. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The Southside fire station currently has meeting rooms. To my knowledge they have never been rented out. However, I believe the OPVFD have permitted some Ocean Pines Organizations to meet there on occasion. The Southside fire station is also a polling place. Hi Norm, Since the OPVFD already has meeting rooms, I wonder why they need one on the Noth Side? If there is no meeting room, there would be no need to have extra parking. I remember attending a Fall Fair at the South firehouse one time. The room was very spacious, and there were lots of folks in attendence. It was a great place to hold a large affair. I just don't get this whole firehouse deal ....on any level. I am the only one who doesn't get it? Three years ago we didn't need the North firehouse at all. Now this.
