Your advice to BillZ to read an opposing view from mine in the Progress is also interesting in that the Progress has not been published since the recent public hearing. One can only assume you KNOW what editorial position the Progress will take. At any rate, I too advise people to read everything they can on the subject. My best advice is for people to spend the time and view the video of the recent public hearing and make up their own minds on just what happened and why.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Like Congressmen and women, Commissioners are elected by the voters of a specific district. And though both try hard to serve the parochial interests of their specific districts, their primary obligation is to the country or the county they are elected to serve. Cetola believes that he is serving the best interests of both Worcester County and Ocean Pines, which means he is fulfilling both his primary and secondary obligation, at least in his eyes. Joe Reynolds is quite talented at making the case for those who oppose what the Commissioners did. I suggest you read the Ocean Pines Progress for the case supporting what the Commissioners did. Both sides make reasonable arguments and many good points, but I tend to think the issue is far more complex, and far less black and white, than either side will actually admit. |
