I personally think we can fix and maintain our existing facility for less money then tearing it down and rebuilding a new smaller venue. The biggest problem at our Yacht Club is not the facility, it is the "open for business plan" which is generating losses like a broken fire hose spews water. The fix for our Yacht Club is so obvious it is down right scary. Close in the off season! Let me say the obvious one more time: "CLOSE IN THE OFF SEASON" I would support leasing our golf operation to a qualified and profit driven entrepreneur in a second. Marty

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What do property owners think about my previous suggestions to limit the yacht club to one story unless it can be demonstrated that the payback for the second story banquet facility is 10 years or less? I would also be interested in hearing what people think about leasing the golf course on a 50 year triple net lease and if no takers can be found a $1.00 a year then close the course and turn it into a park? |
