Bill,
Certain OPA amenities have historically operated in the red and that was a sore point to be sure. However, the issue becomes a real thorn in ones side when an investment of several million is supposedly needed to continue these amenities. We are now at a juncture where we need to decide if that investment will have an acceptable return. One way to do that is to give experienced personnel the opportunity to show that these facilities can be operated profitably but that would have to be done prior to any significant expenditures. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Instead we have well meaning, non-qualified novices throwing out grand schemes costing every association member big bucks Al. Marty's figures are a projected loss of 204000 dollars. As far as big bucks , it comes out to 46,6 cents per week per lot or 24.28 per year per homeowner , not a lot of money and the GM will close the gap in the YC. If not , it still costs less then 25 bucks a week. Not a lot of money, just take some of the profit from the beach club and make it even. No big deal. Bill |
