Bill: "Marty's figures are a projected loss of 204000 dollars" Please, they are not "Marty's figures"! The projected -$240,000.00 negative operating net for the Yacht Club comes from our General Manager Mr. Thompson and is based on the monthly loss numbers reported by our Controller. The -$240,000.00 number is only the operational loss and does not account for any capital spending or depreciation costs. If we take the 2011 audited statement found n the OPA web site the cost to each individual lot for the big three (Golf, Yacht Club and Aquatics) is $146.21 each plus an additional $296.00 in capital expenses in the new budget for next year. Pretty soon we will be talking about real money. "just take some of the profit from the beach club and make it even" Great idea if you don't happen to be purchasing a beach parking pass. Why not close the Yacht Club in the off season and charge a minimum when we have entertainment in the summer? No big deal. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Instead we have well meaning, non-qualified novices throwing out grand schemes costing every association member big bucks Al. Marty's figures are a projected loss of 204000 dollars. As far as big bucks , it comes out to 46,6 cents per week per lot or 24.28 per year per homeowner , not a lot of money and the GM will close the gap in the YC. If not , it still costs less then 25 bucks a week. Not a lot of money, just take some of the profit from the beach club and make it even. No big deal. Bill |
