Tom Olson did a pretty good job at following the board's direction. We reduced payroll significantly and had only one food and beverage manager and no full time chef. The result was a $138,320.00 improvement in the bottom line. $67,229.00 was improvement in payroll alone.
Was that the reason you voted to fire Mr. Olson and to hire Mr. Thompson? We are now suffering the from that change. Your right there. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Al: I can assure you as a member of the board at the time it was not rocket science. The April 30, 2009 audited financial statement showed an operational loss of -$149,710.00 at the Yacht Club. That was the worst bottom line in many years. On top of the audit the board and management were looking at signs of a terrible national economy. The goal was to cut, cut, cut. Tom Olson did a pretty good job at following the board's direction. We reduced payroll significantly and had only one food and beverage manager and no full time chef. The result was a $138,320.00 improvement in the bottom line. $67,229.00 was improvement in payroll alone. I left the board and Tom Olson left management the following August. The new board of directors headed by Tom Terry set into place the "open for business plan". We are now suffering the from that change. This year our Yacht Club is projected to lose -$204,000.00.
