Make all the fun you like, but a 48% increase in our assessments over a five year period and $6,000,000.00 in the bank is not very funny. Our taxes are up less then 7% and our property values are down 35% in the same time frame. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: When I first moved into Ocean Pines in the early 1970s the business amenities were operated as businesses. The golf course membership and outside retail play paid for the costs and the Aquatics operation was a money maker. The evidenace is the assessment was only $50.00 a year. Marty, You are right . Of course you could buy a great car for 3400 bucks with cable TV , no internet and 40 years ago everyone had hair, was lean and mean and could play 36 holes and dance the night away Those were the days my friend Bill |
