The latter is the way to go. Not many people are going to shell out $300 for a parking pass.
I am not so sure. A place to park on the Beach in the summer might be quite attractive to well heeled folks who live in Salisbury or even Riddle Farms. Will be interesting to see. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe the original case goes back to 2002. OPA had to pay two years of taxes in order to file the appeal with the U.S. Appeals Court. Every year since 2002, based on the appeals court decision, requires OPA to pay a tax on the parking. The total tax, to bring us up to date for state and federal is something over $1 million. This is not new news. It has been discussed here many times and reported in local papers many times; it has also been discussed at board meetings. Going forward now, OPA must either pay the tax every year, OR sell the parking passes to the general public and avoid any tax. The latter is the way to go. Not many people are going to shell out $300 for a parking pass. |
