Does anybody have any idea how many parking spaces there are at the beach club? I realize that nothing is marked and people jam in there, as well as at Secreats. Do we know how many cars are allowed in the Secreats lot? Linda
Hi Linda, I think I counted 30 or 31 spaces that are stiped for us. I have only experienced "going to overflow" a couple of times.....and it made me furious. They have structures on our property that should be OURS FOR PARKING early in the day. The parking spaces are striped, and located perpendicular to the highway. Since they don't need our parking except at night time....I think we should have ALL OUR SPACE in the congested times of the day. Needless to say I did not get a place to park those times. I go there so seldom at a crowded time I never pursued it. I only go over there early in the day with guests ....and cower under the umbrella until the sun is not so strong. They get our WHOLE parking lot at night and we get "what they give us" in the daytime. T'aint fair! Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Most times it may be easier to find a parking spot elsewhere as the lot is already way oversold. If I was well-heeled I'd have my chauffer drop me off.... or buy a house on the beach. Anyway, I can't understand why anyone goes there for the beach. Looks like one of those scenes of a beach in China. Joe: Does anybody have any idea how many parking spaces there are at the beach club? My thoughts are, rather then selling to the public, why couldn't Ocean Pines find out how many cars there is space for and sell that many passes to our membership? Why sell more than there are spaces? I know that different people go at different times. However, if it is supposed to actually be for our membership and we don't want other people outside of our community to be able to buy a pass, if we just made it private and sold only a certain number of spaces, wouldn't that take away the tax liability? I realize some people might be upset if they couldn't be "oversold" and get a pass and hurry over there and get a space before anyone else, but, that might be an answer. |
