Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Vote YES on YC Referendum Msg# 839881

For example, when the $30 rise is in effect, for sequential years, it would rise to $60, then $90 , then $120 in each successive year, each year loaded on top of the prior year's increase.
When in effect? About $100 is already in effect and the board will probably vote another $25 toward the 5-year plan in the budget for next year. If so, $125 of the assessment will then be devoted to a reserve for renovation or replacement of out major infrastructure. The $125 will then remain constant producing about $1 million per pear every year thereafter unless or until the board drops it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Rosalind As I was reading your list, I initially thought you were serious, but then it came to me that this seemed a clever SPOOF. You seem to be saying that if we've got an over-the-top spending BOD, they should throw in some more of the "kitchen sink": health club, etc, etc. I'm laughing out loud, (but sobered by the upwards, upwards trend in members costs that the future holds.) For example, when the $30 rise is in effect, for sequential years, it would rise to $60, then $90 , then $120 in each successive year, each year loaded on top of the prior year's increase. Yes, as voters in the annual BOD elections, we should, as you've said hold them to higher standards. It seems that Norm Katz and Marty Clarke are two of the few taking them to task, Norm by letters to the editor, and Marty newly elected. Tom |
