And your suggestion for another way to govern this HOA is? As for your final sentence, Ocean Pines is a great place to live. Politics here is no different than in any other large HOA, or our state and federal governments. I'd no more think of moving out of Ocean Pines solely because of political wrangling than I'd think of moving to another country because of USA politics. Perspective is important. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: OPA has, for years, destroyed itself from the inside out. As a property owner - full time resident for 16 years, and as a Golf Maintenance Administrative Assistant employee for five of those years, I can say with experience, it is not 'what you know', but more 'who you know'. There is so much unkind unequality and politicism, pushed around, by an amazing few. The former Director of Golf Maintenance was just a part of this OPA Titanic Iceburg. His tenure of indescretion boggled my mind, but GM Ferguson found him to be a 'fair haired boy', and never wanted to know the truth. Of course, he went down first... I resigned the job, three minutes from my home, to drive 10 miles to other employment. I left wonderful co-workers behind, but found peace in a new work environment. The OPA Power Brokers need to give up this rude game, and the property owners should look to other ways to govern and manage OPA. In 2007 my husband died, then my health began to decline. I sold my primary residence in July 2011, and moved home to PA. In a way, I feel sorry for the family that bought our beautiful 'forever' home.
