We've not had any heavy rain lately that caused flooding since the fall. I live near the intersection of Beaconhill and Pinehurst that's close to Bainbridge Pond. Last spring OPA unclogged one of the two drainage pipes under Beaconhill from the pond and it seemed to help. Unfortunately they haven't done anything since then and the drain pipe is obstructed again and the ditches have a lot of debris in them. Bill
Hi Bill, Have the full- time people in the neighborhood made any attempt to URGE the GM to address this problem?? If I were there all the time...I would be "sitting in" at his office or camping out in his front yard . Ocean Pines people do not seem very proactive at all. There is so much talk....and no action. Tell everyone to call first and be very nice.....like EVERY DAY.....and if nothing happens...step it up and get creative! Leaving leaves in the ditches in a area where HOMES ARE FLOODED IS INSANE! They should have been done as soon as the leaves HIT THE GROUND. ( I do realize that there has been snow ...but that happened long after the leaves fell off the trees.) I will be there tomorrow. I am hoping there are no leaves on Sandyhook...but it sounds like I may see them! Nancy |

Unfortunately they haven't done anything since then and the drain pipe is obstructed again and the ditches have a lot of debris in them. I've given up on waiting for OPA to vacuum the ditch leaves. They didn't show up in my section (3) until the first or second week in January so I just bagged them. You would think OPA would give special attention to those areas that flood but guess not. Bill |
