Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Section 3 Drainage Msg# 876822

I can assure you this is not true.
Hi Bill. What you say is a direct contradiction of what the GM stated after I made public comments on the drainage issue during the Tuesday board meeting. Interestingly, the GM told me after the meeting that he agreed with me that the four fulltime positions were not needed. When I asked why he put them in the budget he said he did so because the board kept pushing him on drainage. The board voted to leave the positions in the budget... about $115,000 as I recall. When I questioned Tom Terry after the meeting and told him what Thompson had said, he suggested I not worry all that much over the issue. Why? Because, as he put it, while the positions were in the budget it did mean they would be filled. Quite frankly, the board/gm management over the last few years has been more troubling than normal. Would you be willing to meet me tomorrow sometime over at Bainbridge Pond? Perhaps you could educate me about the problems people are experiencing and point out ditches/pipes that have not been cleared. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Based on what was said at the board meeting on Tuesday, all the pipes and ditches in the area have now already been cleaned. I can assure you this is not true. My neighbor raked the leaves out of the ditch in front of the mailboxes on Beaconhill in late November and they're still laying there. The OPA workers didn't even bother to vacuum them up so most have blown back into the ditch, which is now clogged up.This ditch is the main drainage out of Bainbridge Pond. Bill |
